The chance to visit Philip Holder’s Wellington Carriage Company near Telford and learn about the work he does restoring and building carriages. Philip has some fascinating vehicles and his knowledge of them and the traditional methods of building and maintaining them is legendary.  We will be travelling in our own cars and after a stop for lunch, will be going to Philip’s for the afternoon.

Sarah is an equine/canine physical therapist using a combination of McTimoney Chiropractic, myofascial release (including craniosacral techniques) and infra red/red light therapy to promote optimum performance, health & soundness in animals.
Sarah will be demonstrating the techniques on Dee’s pony and explaining the benefits and long term treatment plans for injury or general fitness and comfort.

Our Easter Show with something for everyone.

This is the draft schedule which will be updated once sponsorship has been secured.  Please note that the show is now open to non members as well.

Schedule 2020

Training day covering all aspects of safety both at home and at events.  Correct procedures to be followed to minimise the risk of any incidents.  Preparing horses and ponies for events. Pitfalls and common problems.   Followed by some driving training for a limited number of turnouts.  The day will be open to members of the BDS and Cymru Carriage Club although others will be welcome on foot at an additional cost.  Charges TBA.

For the second year running we are combining our annual meet and drive at the beautiful NT Dinefwr, with an opportunity to raise awareness of road safety issues affecting riders and carriage drivers (Pass Wide and Slow Campaign).  Most of the events taking place are ridden but we want to show that, as carriage drivers, we have the same needs.

The drive is being organised in memory of Donna’s  grandfather who introduced her to driving.  Cecil, who was from Tegryn,  was a member of the BDS and attended many drives. This year it is taking place on the anniversary of Cecil’s birthday

There are various routes on offer to accommodate all levels of fitness – from 5 to 8 miles with additional loops if wanted.  The terrain is fairly flat with only a couple of short gentle hills and the lanes are quiet.  There will be cawl available after.

There will be no charge but donations will be collected for Blood Bikes Wales which Donna’s father is part of.

Please pre-book with Donna or Jenny.  Plenty of parking although lorries over 7.5t may be directed to a different area so please let Donna know in advance
